E. Susan Amirian is a Research Scientist and the leader of the public health and healthcare program at the Texas Policy Lab. She is an author of over 45 peer-reviewed scientific publications and two textbook chapters, and has served as a principal investigator or co-investigator on state and federally-funded research studies. Dr. Amirian joined the TPL to design and conduct rigorous evaluations of public health programs and interventions that can help inform evidence-based policies aimed at improving population health.
Dr. Amirian completed a postdoctoral fellowship in molecular epidemiology and served as faculty at Baylor College of Medicine. She is an epidemiologist with over a decade of research experience in academia, industry, and government, whose work has spanned a wide range of health-related topics, including etiologic and prognostic determinants of disease, therapeutic efficacy, and associations between viral exposures and various health outcomes.
