Hira Farooqi is a graduate research fellow at the Texas Policy Lab. She is a Ph.D. student in economics at Rice University where her research focuses on female labor force participation. In particular, she is interested in the relationship between the labor supply of mothers, their fertility decisions and the resulting outcomes for children.
Before joining Rice, Hira completed her master’s in economics from New York University where she studied as a Fulbright Masters Scholar. She grew up in Pakistan where she attended Lahore University of Management Sciences and earned her BSc (Hons) in economics with a minor in mathematics.
